Crocus planting at St Martin at Palace churchyard

St Martin’s is the new headquarters of the Norwich Historic Churches Trust. A lot of clearance work has been carried out this autumn but this is the first stage of replanting the churchyard

The Norwich Rotary Club provided 3,000 corms of Crocus “Giant Ruby” and helped the Friends of Norwich Historic Churches Trust to plant them. The crocus are used to symbolise the Rotary Club’s Purple4Polio campaign to highlight the dangers of Polio and aim of exterminating the disease worldwide. The aim is to encourage a range of community groups to plant 10 million corms this season (7 million were planted last year) across Great Britain and Ireland.
